Writing this post and not feeling very inspirational.  Actually, feeling a bit sick.  Sore throat and all that jazz.  No matter what though,  I plan on resurrecting this body tomorrow :)

I thought it would be a good idea to write about something that I think we all struggle with from time to time.  And, I thought it would be good to write about it while I find myself in the midst of struggling with it myself.  The topic--finding inspiration.

How do we find it when we feel dry and empty?  It can seem like trying to dance with no music on.  Although I like to have my own "life" soundtrack playing in my heart and head all of the time, some days it just seems real hard to find the will and the drive to go on.

Do we get under the blankets and cover up?  Do we quit?  Do we surrender?  Not a chance.  Of course, sometimes you just need to hide under the sheets and I'm ALL FOR THAT :)   But most of the time it is not something requiring simple rest.  Lack of motivation and inspiration runs much deeper than that.  It can be a multifaceted and complex emotional and physiological dilemma.  Take a few moments and consider the following ways to deal with it and, hopefully, find the inspiration you're seeking.  PLEASE watch the video below.  It involves a Father and a son.  To this day, my Dad is still my hero.  He always will be.  I love you, Dad.

ACTION STEPS TO FINDING INSPIRATION

1.  Envision Your Future AS You Would like it to Be

Getting the body of your dreams or accomplishing big things requires sacrifice but also motivation.  Let the vision of YOUR "possible" future be the fuel that puts fire in your heart.  Whatever it is you want, bring the dream to life with vivid mental images and maybe even music.  As I type this post, I have my own music playing.  Use vision and music to move you.

2.  Spend Quality Time in Solitude

It's very important to spend time processing your thoughts and meditating on your hopes and aspirations in complete quiet.  This means no distractions and NO other people.  Silence.

3.  Allow Your Thoughts to Drive Your Actions

Use the thoughts of the future and of your aspirations to lead you to take action.  Never sit on inspiration and let it pass.  Write down your thoughts or speak them into a audio recorder.  Plan the following day in your head and see yourself BEING the inspiration you need.

4.  Leave This Earth and Look Back

Pretend you've come to the end of your life and then look back.  Have you left a legacy behind for others to follow?  Have you touched and shaped the lives of those closest to you?  What will others say about you?  Will your actions continue to cause change in this world long after your gone?  Realizing that you ARE leaving a legacy --for good or bad--is a very powerful way to feel the need to claim ownership of your life and choices.  Don't just leave a legacy...Burn a Beautiful Trail behind you!

When I was a young boy, I would pray to God that if he wasn't going to USE me for something greater than myself, that he should just take me...then and now.  Then, I recall one night under the street lights, I was crying to my father about my significance.  I said, "Dad, I don't want just to exist.  I want my life to mean something."  My dad turned to me and said, "T, you are going to be great."

I never forgot that moment.  What makes it all the more special is that my dad really believed that with all his heart.  That moment still inspires me to this day.

I hope the video below inspires you.  The son couldn't live the dream without his dad.  So, his dad gave it all he had with his son.  Enjoy

Thanks April. I love the story behind the video. Not very many would do what that father did over and over again...not just once. Still feeling sick but I'll get there :)

Man, how do you do it? We haven't talked in weeks and yet you are still right up there in my head. This post is exactly what I needed today. For the past couple of days, I have been feeling really sluggish and not at all like my regular fiery self. Yesterday, I allowed that to be but today I know I must push on and through this so I can get back to the me you have taught me to be. Thank you for reminding me of that, yet again. Love you, babe.

Hey Lii, I completely understand the cycle. Most never overcome it because it can't be changed without continual effort. last night, I was literally PUSHING myself out of that place. it worked, but it took application. You are not the same person you once were and you WILL be unshakable one day soon. Love you too! :)

Ever since I had the crises as a young teen of searching for significance&value as a person&finding my place in this world,my heart's cry has been "there HAS to be more to life!!"I have fought everything within myself to PUSH past the status quo of living a mediocre life&settling for what life has thrown in my face.I KNOW there IS SO MUCH MORE....!

Tony, what u have written touches the very CORE of my being.God has placed such AMAZING&UNLIMITED POTENTIAL w/in EACH&EVERY individual. The cry within is for EVERY person to realize&walk in the DESTINY/the AWESOME PLAN God has for them,to not settle for less;for each person to tap into the ability that's been placed w/in each one.The LORD is our inspiration&HE has placed that inspiration inside every one of us.Thank u from my heart. Your life has made tremendous difference in so many lives around this world!!! Praying for a quick recovery for you.

This is such a beautiful video! I cried, and then shared it with others. Thank you for sharing this, and for sharing who you are with the world. I can't tell you how many times I've lamented the same, 'I don't want to just exist, I want my life to mean something!' Working with you and this program, I know that it DOES mean something, and what's more, I get to CHOOSE what I make it mean! Enlivening!

Sarah and Cami, Thank you so much! LIVING in your DREAM body and then following EVERY dream is the what we were all meant to be doing...whether or not we do is another thing. You both are in the midst of LIVING it :)

You know what im going through,,it pales in comparison to the everyday life of this man and his son..we take too much for granted, and give up to easily over minor setbacks...never again!Thank u again for an amazing post. Hope your better soon..and for the record, I so can see you being that kind of man/father in the video. Bless you Tony!

WOW! What I got from that video and your post is that we draw strength from a Power outside ourselves when we can't find the motivation from within. My Father is in heaven with my Dad. So I know they watch over me and carry me just like that father in the video, when I can't walk, swim or run this triathalon of life. Feel better soon Tony. God bless you.

Tony, you have helped me to see this (and this is my resolve and delcaration): I will not settle for less than The BEST that God has for my life in ALL areas (think D3 and goals!) and inspire and help others to do the same... thank you. Heb. 12:1-3

Truly beautiful! I will remember this when I am feeling down or sorry for myself.I will continue to push forward. You have helped me to a place in my life I would never have dreamed of a few years ago! Thank you Tony.

Tony, I am encouraged... every time I think negatively or if I have any challenges I am facing BECAUSE... I am reminded to look back to the journey wall/history timeline and see how I have overcome and made it through... FOCUSING my thoughts on the FUTURE and seeing that VISION helps me greatly to push through and it INSPIRES me to 'dig my heels in,' 'pull myself up by the bootstraps' and go for it!!!!!!! Be encouraged everyone, NO matter what obstacles you are facing, you WILL make it through!!!!! Not only does Tony believe in us, God believes in each one of us as well. I believe the bigger challenge is believing in ourselves as well.

Finding the inspiration for each one of us gives us the 'why' and the drive for us to keep going. I constantly look for people that inspire me. You'd be surprised how many people around you all that look up to you, that you inspire them. Now, THAT in itself inspires me to keep going!
